Abstract

           A leadership skill has its far and wide reaching effect in today’s volatile environment. The effect of leadership skills; is not only at the corporate level but has emerged as the necessity in our day to day life. The fact that these skills will steer us to a better future is inevitable as we see it being recognized and understood. It has narrowed down to our work life, college life even in our school life. The more we get aware and conscious about these skills the more we sense its necessity. This has trickled down to creating a career for ourselves.  

           In today’s world corporates are not ready to train fresh talent nor do they have the time or willingness to invest in building such skills from scratches. They expect students at the entry level to have inherited these skills before entering their work life. Students who seek employment through campus recruitment sense this need only when they fail to capture their dream opportunities. It would become too late for them or too late to realize the importance of leadership skills at this stage. Hence we have attempted to create awareness that various leadership skills if inculcated at the college level can equip students to capture their dream opportunities.

1. In the 21^st century, potential candidates will need core skills necessary for career success at all levels of employment and for all levels of education.
2. Placements today have become a Unique Selling Preposition (USP) for the colleges thus necessitating them to take initiatives in nurturing students.
3. Need to identify skills or competencies that need to be inculcated in students to succeed in Campus recruitment process to secure an employment offer.
4. College students are inexperienced and need appropriate guidance.
